Franklin Roosevelt Elswick

Franklin Roosevelt Elswick, Special Deputy

Franklin Roosevelt Elswick, 75, of Manassas, Va., died Oct. 28, 2008 at home. He was born April 29, 1933 in Buchanan County, Va., to the late Alvy and Lydia C. Elswick.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, owner of Elswick Automotive in Yorkshire, Va., and Special Deputy for Prince William County Sheriff's Department.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Athalee V. Elswick; three children, David C. Elswick, Cathy Alderson and Samuel "Bo" Elswick; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters, Evelyn McGlothian and Margie Sigman.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center St., Manassas, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31, with pastor Denver Turner officiating. Interment will follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas.
